Ronnie 2K tells Complex. "I collaborated with my team to bring this to life, but it was a perfect fit to work with him NBA 2K23 MT. When we launched the teaser, everyone believed that it would just be another basketball player...it allows us to experience fashion, culture, music which 2K has a seat at the table."
NBA 2K has evolved from being a mere hyped game in the world of games. It's become a major cultural phenomenon and its intersection with music, pop culture, fashion, sneakers, and of obviously, basketball has taken the game to levels that no other game has rivaled.
The most recent edition of the game, NBA 2K23, the game made history when it announced J. Cole as the first rapper to appear on the cover of NBA 2K with the Dreamer Edition. While it's certainly a surprise that 2K released a cover like this in the midst of its release, the overall trend of the game's gameplay may have hinted at this happening some day. But, despite that this was not 2K's idea, it was J. Cole's.
"Three and a Half Years" when he dunked at one of the break times in the All-Star Weekend Saturday Night, J. Cole said 'Ronnie I'd like to be on MyCareer and be a part of the ideas around it,'" Ronnie 2K tells Complex. "I worked with our team on bringing this to life , and it was fitting to collaborate with the man. When we put out that tease, everyone thought it was going to be another basketball player...it allows us to live in the latest fashions, music, and culture that 2K can sit at the table."
The J. Cole cover is one of four covers on the brand new edition of 2K along with other covers featuring Michael Jordan, Devin Booker and a duo featuring Sue Bird and Diana Taurasi. NBA 2K23 is being discussed on social media since the NBA ratings dropping this week Buy NBA 2K MT. Kevin Durant even took at playful snark after his score of 2K released. On the day of the game's releasewe spoke with Ronnie Singh aka Ronnie 2K about the decision to put MJ onto the covers rather than LeBron and why Devin Booker was selected over other NBA stars, MyCareer, ProAm, gameplay, and much more.
