The manufacturing phase of prototyping can be a wild rids with many different possibilities and processes to best meet your manufacturing needs. A few of these processes will be briefly described.
Stereolithography, SLA, layers resin by laser to gradually build your component. Selected Laser Sintering, SLS, uses a high-power laser to fuse a 3-dimensional object from glass, metal, ceramic, or plastic powder. Fused Deposition Modeling is an additive process to build a component from a CAM software program by melting a metal or plastic filament in a numerically controlled process to form the desired object. Vacuum Casting is a process by which the desired product is drawn up into the cast from below to form the cast object. Metal Casting is done by pouring a liquid metal into a mold that fits the design criteria. RIM Moulding - Reaction Injection Moulding is the process by which the two parts of a polymer are injected into a mold under high pressure and left in the mold so that the polymer cures into the desired shape. CNC Machining - Computer Numerical Control Machining is the process whereby a part is designed with various tools through a numerically controlled code that fabricates the desired part or component.
